For a low-key experience, escape the crowds in calm, loungey mixology-driven Eden Bar. Celebrity Edge has a total of 1,467 staterooms, and they are some of the largest found on a mainstream ship. All staterooms are 200 sq ft or larger, except for the 17 Inside and 16 Single cabins. Eden Café offers a wide variety of morning beverages and casual culinary bites.

Since the sauna has a window looking outward, you could watch the ocean pass by as you relaxed. The martini bar in the center of the ship comes alive in the late afternoon and evening with bartenders putting on shows for patrons. I couldn’t believe a stack of 20 full martini glasses, one on top of the other, didn’t topple over as they were building a beverage pyramid to the applause of other passengers. All rooms have an oversized flatscreen TV, luxurious bedding, and Celebrity Edge-series’ signature Cashmere Mattress, which are a dream. Water pressure is excellent, and hot water comes within seconds. Infinite Veranda category and below get basic Celebrity products in the dispensers.
AquaClass cabins are focused on a wellness routine with everything from pillow menus and Cashmere mattresses to healthy dining in a private restaurant and VIP access to the spa and thermal suite. A private lounge had snacks and drinks all day plus an outdoor terrace where I would routinely work from as we sailed away. Celebrity Edge’s upmarket price tag mean guests generally respect the ship’s “smart casual” dress code. Fellow passengers are usually dressed neat and appropriately. For the restaurants, the dress code states no bare feet, sports caps, tank tops, robes or swimwear allowed; no flip-flops, sandals or shorts allowed during the evening dining hours. The dress code isn’t strictly enforced in the main buffet, but is adhered to for the full-service restaurants.

Edge class vessels are sure to attract a more sophisticated, maybe even slightly older, crowd although this could be dependent on the itinerary. This ship also has made such a, forgive the pun, splash that it appeared to draw lots of first-time cruisers on my sailing. The mix of American and European travelers was obvious with multiple languages exclaiming their impressions of the exotic design spaces, which were unlike anything I had seen on most other ships. The 284 Concierge Class staterooms include an exclusive welcome aboard lunch, priority tender and a dedicated concierge.

It’s whimsical and fits well with the garden-style design of the space. The club can be very busy on some nights, but just “crickets” on others.
